Kona or Bust! Fueled by Gratitude!

Two on my wrists for the 2.4 mile swim, 112 on my bike, and 26 on the marathon. Each one was dedicated to one of my cancer warriors. I made the mistake of saying that I carried them, but really we carry one another. You may be able to read the article, but basically I was asked to talk about what was in my training plan that allowed me to achieve a slot to Kona. I said it was the strength I drew...

If the mind can believe it, the body can achieve it.

Check in from Barcelona!

Shortly after arriving in Barcelona, Marty sent us an email to let us know how he’s doing. He’d only been there for about 2 days and already has had quite an adventure! So, for those of you, like myself, who can’t be in Barcelona right now, join me in living vicariously through this awesome inspired athlete! “Hard to fathom I’ve been in Barcelona for less than 48 hours. I arrived for my pre-race advance work. I did have some angst about finding a reputable bike shop, I know there are plenty of them in Barcelona but you need to know who they are. Within 3 hours of...

Day 1 at Challenge Barcelona-Maresme

Hola from Calella, Spain! I arrived yesterday morning (Thursday) and was picked up from the airport by my training/racing buddy Marty, who had arrived in Spain on Monday. Marty helped my carry my bike box to his rental car- which he had just swapped out for a larger car, but after hearing more I think there were other reasons. I was...
