The formation of TEAM INSPIRATION is the result
of a wonderful journey I have been honored to be a part of with my friend Kristen who is a cancer survivor. Kristen and I met about ten years ago while training for a triathlon. We knew we had come together for a very important purpose, but had no idea of the magnitude. One month later, Kristen, who was 29, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I became her caregiver as she began treatment for 2 1/2 years. This included three bone marrow
transplants. Throughout this period, we continued
to do triathlons and marathons together, which gave us the hope, strength, and joy needed
to carry us through this challenging journey.

This experience led me to return to school to become
an oncology nurse. My life is even richer for being given the honor and privilege to share in the journey of healing with so many inspiring and wonderful people, and to share my joy and love of triathlon and running with so many.
In 2007, I ran a marathon with 26 bracelets on my arms with the name of a beloved patients, friend or family member on each one, and raced triathlons
to raise thousands of dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as a member of TNT
In 2008, I raced over 500 miles of triathlon, and carried my beloved patients, family & friends on my race shirt and raised thousands of dollars for various cancer foundations.

As Kristen and I learned through our experience, healing is much more in addition to medicine and our mission is to help those who need healing explore their needs and deliver resources that serve to heal body, mind, and spirit. This includes exercise, and alternative modalities such as meditation and yoga.

In 2009, I will race with my TEAM INSPIRATION teammates as we carry my beloved patients, our family and friends in our hearts and raise funds to carry out our mission of healing, and support other nonprofit organizations who share our mission
