This is a pic of an article from Triathlete Magazine in 2010 when I qualified for Kona at IRONMAN Arizona. I carried with me that day 140 LiveStrong wristbands…one for each mile of the race. Two on my wrists for the 2.4 mile swim, 112 on my bike, and 26 on the marathon. Each one was dedicated to one of my cancer warriors. Each year, I tell myself, “This is going to be the year I run really fast!” or “I’m going to get in the pool 3-4 times a week and maybe wake up at 5:30 like some of the other athletes!” However, I’ve accepted the fact that I am not a morning person at this point in my life and I’m okay with that I used to be hard on myself about not getting up for a workout or deviating from the plan, but I’ve realized that it’s okay to not have a strict schedule.
